Hi, does anyone recognize the parts here? I am very grateful for the answer!

Re: Engine parts ?
Parts of the cam chain or primary chain tensioners. Smaller bits may be pieces of valve cover bolt grommets.

Re: Engine parts ?
It's usually not the miles, but whether the bike has been run hot very often. Heat kills the rubber parts. You can pull the valve cover and inspect the top tensioner and much of the vertical one for catastrophic damage, but you really cannot see the primary tensioner. I'd clean the sump, check up top what you can and run it a few hundred miles (unless it's making excessive noise), drop the oil and sump again and see what you find.
As you may know, these tensioners are super-expensive, however, some are being refurbished by vendors. You can change both top tensioners by removing the head, but the cases have to be split to change the bottom one.

Re: Engine parts ?
Thank you very much for your reply, have had 2 quick oil changes. Top has been removed for valve adjustment, no visible damage there. engine makes a bit of noise but runs fine otherwise. get hold of a small inspection camera and try and look at it a bit more.daves79x wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 9:03 amIt's usually not the miles, but whether the bike has been run hot very often.
