Hello Gents,
Anyone know the length of the bolt that tensions the cam chain (Front).
Tried to adjust mine today, internal thread stripped, pulled the bolt out
the thread measures around 16mm long.

regards
Edd.

You don't need a new bolt, just Heli-coil the thread. Happens to most '79s. Later ones had larger bolts.

Hi Dave,
I’m looking a inserting a Heli coil, but I’m not sure if the existing
bolt has sheared higher up the tube where it locks the adjusting arm.

If I can determine the bolts original length (and its longer than the one I have)
I will know there is still a part of the bolt I need to remove.

Edd.

Very difficult to shear the bolt as it is steel and the head is aluminum. The threads go first.
Best,
