valve lifters
does anyone know the O.D. measurements for the two different lifters for bores A. & B. The factory manual only lists one and doesn't even mention the different bore sizes?

Re: valve lifters
They are marked. if you look in Honda service manual it shows you which ones are a or b. As far as measurement I can not answer that.

Re: valve lifters
I thought I had the official Honda manual but it doesn't mention any markings. Looking closely the only possible markings I can see are the different sized dimples on the top of the lifter. Is that the mark?

The manual shows clearly the marking on the A and B lifters. They are 'grind' marks on the outer rim.

Re: valve lifters
OK now I see the grind marks. Either both sides off the shim removal notch or just one side. I have what I thought was the good manual. It was issued in March of '78 and has an addendum for '80. The only thing I can find about the lifters is to put them back in the same place as original. Maybe I'm blind. Can you tell me which set of grind marks indicates which letter designation of bore size.

Re: valve lifters
I just looked in my manuals and you are right they are not in the 78 manual and it is not in the 79-80 manual. It is in the 81-82 manual though. Pm me your email and I will send you a picture of it from my 81-82 manual.
