Clutch cable on full adjustment

Clutch cable on full adjustment
Have a year 79 z and the clutch cable is on full adjustment , has new cable and friction plates and screw under cap is one turn out , everything works fine , anyone had this or got any idea's ? cheers Chris

Aftermarket or OEM cable? Some aftermarket cables are too long.

Are you still using the 1979 clutch basket, did the clutch disengage okay before you changed the plates, did you make sure all the steels were flat and not burnt or warped ?

I had the same problem on my '79. After posting an inquiry on this site around 2012 I learned that the cable I purchased from Honda was originally for and '83CB1100 and superceded the original CBX part number. Close but no cigar. It works fine but leaves little room for future adjustment
