A good look at the lubrication diagram would probably be helpful. I believe the alternator oil supply, for example is not part of the high pressure side of the oil flow. The oil pressure in the engine builds through defined orifices and areas, such as the crank and rod bearings where the pressure is required to provide the bearing effect.

That's on the secondary pump George which supplies the cooler & the transmission only, however I'm sure Andreas has thought this out well...cbxtacy wrote: He figures the oil is for the clutch driving the CBX alternater and won't be needed. That will help flow/pressure to other areas hopefully.

Two pumps = two rivers as long as the lake is deep enough (extra sump) Each river carries the same amount as a stock engine...
No?
You will note that I'm posting this late on a "school night". Crown Royal is working its way into my veins as I type. I have a large herd of angst which needs to be drowned before I go to bed. 112:35pm 11/5/2008.

You bring up some good points Bill.... "Ideally" you would require a larger sump together with increased cooling capacity. I think Andreas "initially" will nurse this engine, after all it's almost 200bhp. As long as there is enough capacity to ensure design pressure is achieved, with all components well lubricated, fatal damage will not occur....
I stayed up late until Ohio was called, bit tired now...

and here's a few more photo's to intrigue you. The first is an old photo with the engine installed. It was before he did all the internal work on the engine. What looks like a radiator is a vertical mounted oil cooler. There's a matching one on the other side. It has 3 ea two barrel side draft Weber dcoe45's on it. The forks fit between the velocity stacks, real close.

But if I had to pick one of his bikes to ride down to the corner grocery for a pack of smokes, I would pick this one:
even though I feel the V12 is the most awesome looking piece of art, there's just something about this one. It's sooooo functional (for a 2000cc V6 powered bike with a blower on it). And I think the cam belt guards are sexy.

something to consider in the future. Here's the sump Andreas is going to use
and here are the oil lines to the heads
and here's under the engine where he's considering another oil return line from the front head
