I took the bike to a local bike meet last night, it got quite a bit of attention.... thankfully, however, no-one said "that sounds too rattly" or such, so maybe I'm just being a bit paranoid! I do also have a CB750F DOHC and it's silent from the top-end, so I still reckon the CBX ought to be quieter than it is, lol.
Top-end noises....

Side note -- for those who don't know the CBX, just tell them the noise is dry clutch rattle! :) :)

Hi, maybe i missed it, but did you syncronize the carbs? Mine rattled very bad and i also shimmed it, put in oversize cam couplers and adjusted chain tension with limited success. But only the synchronizing after all measures eleminated all noises. Now motor absolutely silent at idle.

wessi, the noise isn't primary chain or clutch basket (the two things that carb balancing has an effect on), it's in the valvetrain.
