Hi guys
Just a quick question- Will a set of Barrels and pistons off an 82 cbx1000 fit an early 1979 cbx1000?
There are different part numbers for these.
Any help always appreciated
Best Regards
Martin

Re: Barrels and pistons swap
They will fit. The pistons actually have the same part number. The cylinder block does not, but I am not aware of any significant difference that will prevent installation. Maybe the holes for the studs in certain places have different diameters.

Yes, your center 4 studs will be smaller than the holes in the '82 cylinder, but as discussed before, should not present a problem. As far as I know, everything else will fit up.

Hi
Thanks for your replies. would I need to change those four inner studs or just leave the original ones in?

I would leave them in. If you change, you would, of course, have to drill and tap the case. I would not mess with that.
