After driving my latest addition for a week I want to run a minor issue by the forum and see what responses I get. I have a pretty good idea what it is.
About half the time when I first start the bike of a morning I am getting smoke from the right exhaust for a few seconds. I took the bike out after dark a couple times so I could see if there was any smoke showing in the lights of the cars behind me but none is apparent even if I step into it and run it up to around 7k.
What say you!

Oil is cheap. A Norton owner told me that in response to the exact same question about my '81.
I have minor smoking issues on the right side that clear when the seals warm up. A year and 4000 miles later i just remember to start the bike outside of the garage.
Obviously, i am keeping an eye on the performance and oil consumption.

Thanks for the responses.
I was thinking it might be the seals also. When I pulled the head off my #2 last year all the seals were hard and one had broken up and I imagine I would see a similar situation here. The #3 also gave me an excellent running "X" to compare my #1 to and I am now convinced it has a valve that isn't seating completely even though it runs silky smooth so I guess my next step is to get a leak down tester and then have a go at #2 for the third time and then #1 while I enjoy the heck out of driving #3. As always I will add pictures to my website to document the progress.
Thanks for the good advice.
