Cam chain adjusters
I had written in earlier regarding some sputtering while riding about 100 KMS and up. Could the cam chain need adjusting to possibly solve this problem? I have never adjusted them since I had built the bike.

The cam chain adjusters (tensioners) are supposed to take up the slack in the return strand. Even if they are not properly set, they should have little or no effect on how the engine runs as the other strand of the chain is under load and tight. Theoretically, under idle, a driven cam could move ahead a small amount due to pressure on a cam from a lifter, but I think on a six cylinder, it is unlikely.
