Louder

Post by jackstraw »

I bought my 82 recently with a complete new replica Sankei exhaust
It looks great but they are very quiet and I do love the noise that a straight six makes and so I would like it to be a bit louder

As my downpipes are nearly new and in very good condition I would like if possible to replace just the cans

Is it possible to buy replacement mufflers/cans which are (almost) street legal sound wise which I can simply bolt on

Thanks

I doubt it, you most likely would need a mid pipe to connect the headers to a can or muffler and now that Sankei system is a cobble. Sell the Sankei and buy a complete system that meets your needs. :twocents-02cents:

Jardine made "slip-on" mufflers that are loud and mellow at the same time.

This involves sacrificing your pristine exhaust to only use the down pipes.

But, they haven't been made these in years, and when I asked if they would make another run, they said they would IF I bought 100 sets.
I searched for years to find an NOS set for my bike, shown here:
