The end cap and baffle come out as a single unit, at the same time, together, connected, all at once. After you remove the screw, tap it out from the front or pull it out from the rear.

Tapping the top of the perforated baffle or if you can hook it from the the cap end and pull, the baffle will pop out the end cap and the baffle will follow.

Don't use the attic insulation, it breaks down too quickly.

I had to use copious amounts of Kroil and a slide hammer to get the baffles out of mine.
They did not have the front piece of pipe attached to the baffle.

I am trying everything :) . They are in there for a while and don’t want to leave easy . Not giving up yet. Is the packing I listed in thread available at revzilla any good ?

Yes it's fine, most M/C dealers who sell accessories have it, sometimes it's in the dirt bike section of the store.

You may have to resort to the slide hammer technique Steve mentioned! Or the poor mans version, get a long nail or piece of rod, sharpen, then bend the tip at a 90, insert it through the end cap and onto the perforated portion of the baffle, hook the baffle and then clamp a good sized Vicegrip wrench to the rod or nail and hit the wrench with a mallet a couple times .

Thanks for the tip. One is out, next to other one. Left it standing with some wd40 . Hopefully will loosen up

how much length of packing should I use ? packing comes in 11x16x1" size. is 16" long or I have to cover entire perforation ? Thanks

Yes I know this is an older post.....please bear with me.

Been a while since surfing the forum and noticed this thread. I'm pretty sure I'm the guy that bought AshishNJ's exhaust and noticed that the pics he uploaded to this thread have disappeared.

I didn't know at the time that the earlier models had different mounts than the prolink models, so bought the system not knowing the difference, (BTW no hard feelings at all Ashish), so I just set in motion a way to mount them to my bike. I used some sheet stainless to fab up some brackets, and mounted them to the passenger foot peg bolts for support.
I tried to snap a similar pic that SIXINOZ posted on page one of this thread and used his here as a side by side comparison....just in case anyone else is buying a Kirker exhaust system....there is a difference.

There were several versions of the Kerker pipes. The first ones had a steel bracket to mount the mufflers to the footplates. The later versions had a large mount built into the muffler. Yes, there were also lower-angle mufflers for the Pro-Link.
