Restoring exhausts

I have a 79, my exhaust is in good shape, however the pipes had some surface rust, and therefore even after cleaning don't have a great shine.



Has anyone tried having an original exhaust rechromed? If yes, happy with the results? Who did the work?



I'm not looking for "Show Bike", I like to ride it too much to park it.

Rather than re-chroming the exhaust system you may want to consider ceramic coating it. I have not tried this myself - tempted though. Check out: http://www.fireballcoatings.com/
