Regulator/Rectifier resin cracking normal?

Going to be searching for proper testing and going through entire testing phase for charging as I get my CBX back on the road. But I was checking out things after I got it home and was looking at the back of the R-R and it is all crackled. Was it overheated or is this normal? I had an old RR from another Honda the same year and it didnt have this. In addition, I plan on searching for the testing procedure, but if somebody has a link already, it would be most appreciated.
