OK, just installed this device and it's pretty cool:

It monitors battery state and has some predictive analytic sensing capability that shows the 'health' of your battery. Seems to have been tested by WingWorld and is well regarded by them:

An old buddy gave it to me as a gift and I installed in on the CBX, running it to the tail section. I can pop the hatch, pull it off it's velcro, and have a look anytime.

I'll report back if it turns out to be flaky, but if it turns out as advertised it'll be a nice tool for a bike with a weak charging system that only gets ridden occasionally :D

That looks like a pretty neat gadget. From the description, it has quite a bit of technology in a relatively inexpensive device.

Nils, Hopefully you will get more info than I have. I mounted one on my Wing at the same time I replaced the 6 year old battery. So I have new battery and the bike was then ridden on a tour for the next two weeks. So I have no useful data.

My biggest worry is how much power does this meter pull when the bike is just sitting in the garage? How long before this would pull the battery down?

Hopefully you will get some good data for us.

Yes, these things are highly praised by Stu, the Wing World Tech. I guess if the new battery lasts another 6 years in the Wing, I will be comfortable with the meter.

For anyone interested here are two sources for purchase: Shinopples at: http://www.shop.shinhopples.com
and Value Teck at: http://valueteckenterprises.com/

I installed this one about a year ago

http://www.customdynamics.com/LED_batte ... _Mount_LED

It's a single 3 color LED which mounts in a 1/4 inch hole - I put mine in the unused black square which the ProLinks used for the rear shock. It dims for nite use, only costs $25 and does a self check every time you start the bike . . . . plus, it draws *nothing* when the bike is shut off

Best of all, this enabled me to get rid of the near useless Honda analog voltmeter . . . . which was replaced by an engine oil temp gauge - One of the best mods on my bike . . . . which is full of mods ;)

Don, I like yours too. I like the single LED. Should not be too obvious, or catch too much attention. I might have to check out one of these devices.
