Accel coil question

My stock coils went bad (corrosion ate the male terminal the plug wires go on) and I bought some Accels with the wires. Question is, do I want to go to a .035 gap as recomended, and do I need to re-jet the carbs, as recomended. If I use a smaller gap can I avoid re-jetting? This is on an 81 CBX in Houston, TX 60 feet above sea level.

I wouldn't change anything / any settings with a coil change.
Yes, you could open up the plug if you needed to, but why ?
Just install em and go (IMHO)

That's why I'm asking, someone has been thru this before me. Accel recommended these changes due to a "hotter spark". BS or not? One thing for anyone doing this, the new wires need the large bullet screw-on terminals on the plugs that the NGK's don't come with. So start scrounging. Auto parts don't sell them by themselves. The coils did fit well, although the mounting bolts interfered with the plastic part of the coil mount, and making up the wires was easy enough. Just practice cutting about halfway thru and the insulation comes right off when you pull on it, leaving a nice un-f-ed up wire. I used some scissors. Also, you have to install ring terminals on the primaries. I didn't think the doubled-up black wires would both fit in there, but they did. I'll run it soon and post results.

Well changing the gap on the plugs is easy enough - try it both ways.
Its said you open the plug gaps with a good aftermarket ingition too, but I dont know why.

Dyna S recommend a gap increase of 50%. I've been running mine 50% over for many many years....Not sure about other coils though ?
