Long running indictor problem solved

I have had a problem with my indicators ever since I bought my Z.
When I am running round town or in traffic for a long time as we know the CBX alternator dos not charge with very slow running and this in turn puts a strain on the battery, the problem I have is the flashers stop flashing they just stay on when I am at a junction or traffic lights when the engine is on tick over.
Now you might say my battery is shot but I get a new battery every year and it is put on a optimizer charger after every run,the alternator is charging at 13.5 volts, tested through a volt meter not the gauge.
So after allot of thinking I replaced the indicator bulbs with 6volt 10wat bulbs
they now work all the time,so now I feel allot safer at junctions now not having to keep revving the engine to keep the light flashing.
To compensate for the wattage going from 21wats to 10wats I have stuck some baking foil on the reflector's inside the indicators to increase the reflection.
Has anybody else had this problem and solved it in a different way.
I did a run out last Sunday of about 90 miles without any problems

I think your 6 volt bulbs just up the amperage draw enough so your mechanical flasher module with it's bi-metallic strip will heat up enough to flash when the voltage is lower . . . . as it is when the alternator isn't charging at idle

A simpler solution is to just replace the mechanical flasher with an electronic flasher - Your turn signals will then flash (and at the same speed) with the voltage at 10 or at 14

I have an electronic voltmeter on my X and even with a new AGM battery, system voltage is down well below 12 at idle - Powering the headlight and tail light with no help from the alternator really sucks the voltage level down

Maybe an option but I do think there is an alternator problem...

Thanks for the reply s I will try a electronic flasher and let you know what happens with reverting back to the 12v bulbs
