Does anyone else's do this, when the bikes cold i have to ride it 8-10 miles untill it starts to charge after it starts to charge it's fine . What would cause this , a weak spring?

Maybe a weak initial charge on the battery?

Dirty connectors or connector corrosion? I put an extra shim in one of my X's to get it to hook up quicker and charge a little more.

I used a spare X alternator washer. It seemed to do the trick.
