alternator spring seat

hello ,

underneath the spring in the alternator is the seat for the spring, underneath the seat i have been told is a washer that is not shown in the parts manual which provides a seat for the seat so to speak, anyone have any ideas on this because i sure as hell aint got one and cant find any reference to it anywhere, am i being misled

There is a fiber washer under the metal washer if the spring you are talking about is the clutch spring. It provides more spring load to the clutch.
