Was the CBX starter motor common to any other Honda models?

Most likely not. Part-numbers do not indicate the use on a previously released bike and the engine size and the mounting of the starter motor would point towards a unique application.

Rebuild is pretty easy, I just (re?)posted some pics and and overview of how I did it on my 400F project, and there are also a bunch of decent videos on YouTube showing how to do it. Cheap, satisfying project!
