IC igniter for 1983 CBX 400 Custom

Hi all ! I'm new here, and would like to ask something important for my bike! I have got an 1983 CBX 400 Custom almost 3 years, but now I have to by a new igniter, because the old one is out of function. The igniter is TID14-18A ME3, with 212 tiped on a metalic plate, manufactured from Hitachi. I found in ebay TID14-15A ME5 , but Iam not sure , will it work on the place of old one. Somebody knows , what tipe of igniter I can place there, different from the old ?! Thanks of all , in advance!!

I am afraid you will not find fast help here as we are mostly unfamiliar with the CBX400/550 models. These were not sold in the U.S. and few here have any detailed knowledge.
Only thing that I can say is, that the TID14-18A ME3 igniter will fit CBX400/550 and the TID14-15A ME5 units is original for the CB650SC or (CBX650)
I am not a specialist in anyhting electrical and could not tell if the unit would work on your bike. Maybe a member from Europe with some knowledge can chime in.

This one is listed for your bike but has very different numbers.
I would contact the seller before buying.

Good find, Steve. That is the original CBX400 part. The TID14-18A ME3 was original for the later CBX550. Maybe somebody replaced it already once before or it superceded the CBX400 part.

Thanks for the answers ! I saw , that the TID14-15A ME5 fits the CB550SC, also 650 and 750 - the Nighthawk series , and it is close to the mine. But I was confused , that my engine is CBX , not CB. If the igniters are the same for CB/CBX, maybe will be easier to find , what I need. And, accordingly with EMS and Steve it's reasonable to look for other type of igniter. Thanks again!
I forgot - the montage over the air box is not like tid14-09, but like the others !
