charging system

Post by DevonCbx »

Thanks everybody for the important info. The charging system works great now. I did match up the coupling plates from the same alternator. As far as them needing to be slightly oiled, I did not know that they should have some oil on them and had wiped the oil of the plates. I understand that they get self oiled by a system that I do not know how it works. Should I open up the alternator and perhaps take a rag and wipe some oil on the coupling plates, or just let them self oil?

Thanks :?:

Best to give them a prelube on assembly Duane, this keeps them happy until oil flow is well established...
