Hello!

Does anyone know if the float valves from the -81 CBX are used in some newer bikes (eg. newer Hondas or Kawasakis)? I'm having a hard time finding original spares for the bike.

Not sure about any newer bikes using the same valve. Hopefully someone else might know, would be good information to know. You might have to use a aftermarket one. K&L Supply might be a source, I know Tims CBX has a float valve in their catalog ( http://www.timscbx.com for the ph #).

Parts and More (http://partsnmoreonline.com/PNMSite/Honda1.htm)carries float needles, but do not see a float valve assy online. You could also try CBX Man www.cbxman.com .

Good luck

The float valve should be part of a carb rebuild kit from e.g. NAPCO.

Sirius Consolidated in Kitchener, Ontario sells them. Check ebay for their address. I rebuilt my 81 carbs with sets from them. Worked A1.

I bought a set from Sirius of the Keyster kits. they look very good and appear to be a thorough rebuild set except for accelerator pumps. they are on Ebay and at http://siriusconinc.com/default.asp

MY local friendly bike shop did say that they could order Keyster also but I had already got them so I don't know how the kit from the bike shop compares, they thought it might be cheaper ordered from the bike shop.
