Damaged Float Valve

After cleaning and reinstalling the carbs I couldn't get fuel to #6 so I used three different screwdrivers and some leverage to remove the float bowl and with the float hanging and the valve in the wide open position nothing came out. I was still thinking that maybe fuel wasn't getting to that carb itself but when I removed the float hinge pin I had to pull to get the valve out. Once out I could see that the rubber nipple was hanging by a thread which explains everything. I dug out another valve and problem solved, she runs smooth again. One of the times sitting without draining the bowls and that valve became stuck to the seat and when the fuel level in the bowl lowered, partailly tore allowing just a trickle of fuel to pass. Pretty strange occurance or at least a new one for me. Sure glad it was the end carb so I could do the repair without pulling the rack again.

Never seen that one before either, Tom.
Maybe you have some "special" gas additives in your neck of the woods. lol.
