ANOTHER CARB LEAK

Post by twinegar »

I put my bike together and #3 is leaking from he overflow. I didn't check the float levels during the rebuild because they were working fine before. I removed the float bowls and all of the floats are set higher (19 mm to 23 mm) than 15.5 mm with #3 being closest to correct. I read that the after market valves and seats will leak so I am going to replace the valves with the old ones. What should the float level be set to?

Set the floats to the Honda spec.

I got it fixed. The new float valves changed the height of the floats so I set 'em and it worked.

I have too many posts here with all the problems I am having with my 80. I just got it started and aside from the idle being a bit high everything is good. I bench set the synch this time and must have got it right because it runs good and just set the idel to 1000.
