Supplier for Short Carb Adjusting Wrench

Post by Brian G »

Hi -

Perhaps I'm looking in all the wrong places, but I'm having a devil of a time finding anyone who stocks the short carb synch adjusting tool. I have the long one, but darned if I can get onto the adjusters on 5 & 6! Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,
Brian

You have tried to order the Honda factory "460" one?

Hi Mike -

Sorry it took so long to reply - I have very sporadic Net access here in North Africa.

The '460' one - that would be the one listed in the '81-82 Service manual? No I haven't - for some reason I thought they were no longer available from Honda. I'll order one when I get back home.

See! There is such a thing as a stupid question

Thanks,
Brian

Brian -- Well, it may not be available, but that is where I would start. I have all three of the wrenches Honda recomended back in the day. The original long CBX specific one, the 323 (CB550) one, and the later one that the 323 was superceded to, the 460 (CB650) one. Hey, how about a picture of that Rocket 3? :)

Soon as I get home and blow the dust off of her, Mike. For sure. Mid to end of July.
Thanks,

Hi Brian,

I realize that quite some time has gone by since you asked this question, but I just ordered the tool you're looking for from http://speedsupplies.com/ . The updated part number is 07908-4600200. Price is fairly reasonable at $18.33.

Warning: the website is a little quirky... you have to click on "order by part number" to find the tool. Any other search will return "item not found". Good luck.

Thanks Bill. I'll have to go through their site to find another item to bring the cost to above their minimum order - shouldn't be too hard. I did actually manage to do the job with the long wrench, but it will be easier next time with the short one.

Best Regards,
Brian
