dynojet stage 3

Dynojet does not list the stage 3 for the CBX anymore. If you look at other bikes from the same era with stage 3 kits, there is usually a 30 difference between the mains for stage 1 and stage 3. The difference being the stage 1 is for the stock airbox and the stage 3 is for individual filters. Now the better a bike breathes with the stock airbox, the smaller the difference will be with the stage 3. The dynojet for the CBX (81,82) comes with 3 different size mains- 94, 98, and 102. I'm down to 110's with individual filters and it's still rich. Anyone else with a stage 3 know what they have for mains and how does it run? I believe the CBX breathes pretty good with the stock airbox compared to individual filters. So how much leaner (smaller) should I go?

I always thought, pods on CV carbs are a bad idea anyway

the newest (old) dynojet stage 3 had 3 filters for 6 carbs. We need to face reality, the intake tract on a CBX is an abomination.

The stage 3 kits were designed for ONLY individual filters. I've had good luck with the 98s or 102s. Doesn't seem to matter much about exhaust. Someone once said that the Dynojet jets were numbered using a different system and that a #98 Dyno jet wasn't the same as a #98 Keihin. I've measured them several times with a jet gauge and they sure measure the same to me. The big difference is in the needle and how it meters low and midrange.
Try the 102s and you'll be close.

I was thinking about the same, about the needles-3rd or 4th clip (6 clips on em)? And idle mixture-2 1/2 turns?

OOPS - should have mentioned - clip in top groove of needle (leanest position). Any other position is way too rich. 2 1/2 turns is good.
