Alternative to Using Rubber Carb Plugs

Post by cnshores »

I was wondering if anyone has had success using something other than the "rubber plugs" , to block off the slow jet......this is required for the 1979 carbs. I was pondering using red silicone sealer, or a nylon plug that I can get at a hardware store ..

Not too sure about red silcone seealer being impervious but if you try here: www.macmaster.com you will find a viton components that may do the job...Failing that, maybe an epoxy would work ?

Why would you want to use something different? The rubber plugs work.
