Carb synch

I have been testing out one of the CBX's I bought and it has the same problem that my 82 CB750K has. If I am cruising residential streets at low speed and barely crack the throttle open not all the cylinders are getting gas or are not firing, open it a little farther and they all fire. On my 82 750 I have done everything except change the air valve and have synched the carbs 3 times just to make sure they are right. What do you think? The bike runs great in every other aspect but that is really annoying when I am trying to maintain an even speed in town.
I am sure it is a fuel issue so maybe it is a problem with the excellerator pump or air valve.

If its carbs, it may be easiest to check plug color and head pipe heat and eliminate some variables. If its been sitting a while maybe the carbs are gummed up.

I will go pick up a set of plugs tomorrow and eliminate that possibility. That didn't help on my other bike with similar carbs however I am not an expert yet. I will also hook my gauges up and check the sync. Everyone says that their bike was just worked over by the Honda shop but I have found that not to be true in most cases. I am not impressed by mechanics either. The day after I brought my 2 CBX's home I took the best one onto the highway to run it in and the throttle stuck wide open. The so called Honda mechanic had left both fastening nuts on the carb end of the cables dangling and when I opened it wide it slid down and jammed the throttle open. The UPS truck that was a hundred yards ahead got real close real fast before I hit the kill switch.
