Partial Throttle responce

Guys,

I have a 79 with supertrapps and a stock air box with a Tim's paper filter in it. It start's well and idles good but between say 1k and 4k it at a steady throttle it is stumbling or burbling, seems to run better at that rpm with a little choke. So what jet do I need to bump up to? I am not sure what mains I have in I can not remember, I do have the needles shimed about .025 and the pilots turned out 2-1/2 turns. I assume it is the secondary jet I need to increase????

Thanks
JT

Hey JT! Have you sync'd the carbs lately? I just did for the first time in awhile, and was astonished at the improvement.

Just a wild card here, have you checked the mechanical ignition advancer unit for smooth operation ??

I did TRY and sync them, but it was my first time to do so. Maybe would not hurt to re do them and try to get them better.
Thanks

I put in a Dyna system last summer and everything at that time was working properly and it was acting that way then also. It just feels like I need a little bit richer mixture as it runs smoother with a little choke at that throttle opening. I might have to pull the carbs and check the low speed jets. What effect would going out to three turns on the pilots do?

Thanks
