Closed butterflies

Post by DevonCbx »

With the butterflies closed on the throttle. I noticed there are several tiny holes behind the butterflies. Should the butterflies not cover these holes? I know there is a single hole in front of the butterflies. Thanks

I checked my '81 carbs and the butterflies cover these holes. (actually the butterflies are lined up with the outermost hole).

You'll realize real quick when your bike idles @4000 RPM that the butterflies are supposed to mask about half of the single hole in front at proper idle. Just back off your idle adjustment knob to that point. They all should be equal there. That's how you 'bench sync' them.
