another Seafoam testimonial...

Post by steve murdoch icoa #5322 »

I finally got out for the first ride on Monday. Outstanding and a little scary with all the winter gravel, rider rust and car driver ignorance.
The '81 was running fine in the lower revs but anything above 6500 and it would stumble, caough and not clear out. Fun to be out nonetheless.
On Tuesday i filled the tank and mixed in a 1/2 pint of Seafoam Gas Treatment. 5 miles into the ride the stumble and cough were gone and the bike ran clean everywhere in the rev range.
Glenn over at cb1100f.net had told me about this stuff. It worked GREAT for me.

Who sells that juice in Canada?
"It's a friggen motorcycle, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you shit your pants every now and then. "

I get it at Advance Auto in New York State. Napa and Carquest also carry it. As far as i know CarQuest is the sole Canadian distributor.
There are a large number of satisfied users on the www.cb1100f.net website. It can also apparently be used as an internal engine cleaner at oil change time. I have not tried this yet.

In a previous life i spent a night "researching" Gordons Gin. It was the WORST hangover i have ever experienced. Must have been the ice.
The only negatives i have seen about Seafoam came when the fuel ratios were ignored.

I worked in a lab for a while & for kicks ran Gin through a HP liquid chromatograph......It painted the chart with impurities.... :? Vodka was the cleanest we tested........ 8) Later; we put our lab tests through human guinea pigs with the same results...

Marvels Mystery oil and Seafoam are pretty much the same things....

looking at the MSDA, Seafoam seems to be mostly made up of Isopropyl alcohol and naptha ... Naptha being a common and effective industrial degreaser.

www.aossguns.com/images/car/seafoam_msds.pdf

Marvels is 70% naptha mixed with mineral spirits and food coloring.
