Rubber carb plugs
I recently rebuilt my carbs on my 82 cbx. When rebuilding, I noticed there were no plugs in it. I looked in my manual and didn't see any. Am I correct in thinking they were not used in this model?

Your correct. They were on '79's only.

Carb Plugs on 79-----deterioration
I rebuilt my carbs and put about 1000 miles. I have the carbs apart again, and the rubber plugs are now "gooey" (almost like silicone sealer).......Has anyone else had this problem ?... Is there a supplier for the plugs that is known to have this problem.

He has a repair kit, maybe he will sell just the plugs, You'll have to ask if the plugs are Viton, Please let us know what you find out.
Also check with Tim's CBX supply

The rubber plugs in my CBX Master Carb Kits are made from a high grade flourinated synthetic rubber. Not Viton brand...but the material we use has similar properties.jt wrote:Check with Randle at ranndkks cycles http://www.randakks.com/cnshores wrote:So, what supplier has the plugs made with Viton material ?
