Mixture screw adjusting (best tool for 3/4 carbs)

Post by Bill Kemp »

I know this has probably been covered before but I can’t seem to locate what I am looking for:

I need to adjust the mixture screws to get the bike tuned perfectly. What tool are you guys using to reach those pesky 3/4 carbs.

I am going to buy one but I just want to get a good one. I tried the motion pro blue one with the gears but it was useless. The teeth would bind up so back it went.

Let me know what you guys are using that actually works great

Thanks guys

Bill Kemp

Used this Motion Pro one without the gears and haven't had any issues.

Not to hijack the thread, but Mike, when did you move to Florida?

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Last December, Christine and I bought a place South East of Tampa, Fort Lonesome. We are living in a retirement community and loving it.

I also have the motion pro tool and have used it a lot on all three of my cbx’s!! Works great. I’ve found I sometimes need to clamp my small vise grip plier on the knurling close to the handle to help control the end of the screw driver on the very inside screws though. Works great!

A friend sent me this link. This is pretty clever but what else would you
expect from Mr. Millyard. I imagine this could be fabricated without having
a machine shop at home :

I have a Pit Possie, comes with additional removable bits. Amazon carries them.

I JB welded 2 small washers into the hard to reach #3 & #4 screw head slots so I just use my finger tips now and don't need a 90 degree Carb Pilot Screw Adjusting Tool. I painted one side of the washer red and the other blue to keep track of the turns made.
and for #1,2 5,6 I use a
Buspoll Sewing Machine Screwdriver Ultra Short Screwdriver Tool - One Flat Head
