While both things are important for a good running CBX, one does not affect the other and there "is no collusion" between valve clearance and carb sync.
Valve adjustment is done with the engine cold and at rest and proper carb sync is done with the motor running. Because of the latter, one may argue, that a valve adjustment should be done before a carb sync. But unless the valve clearances are significantly out of spec, they do not make the carb sync any different.
