slow jet

Post by pw4158 »

any one knows slow jet i.d or #?

79 vb 60A carb has primary and secondary main jet. down stream of

primary main jet, parallel to primary main nozzle, slow jet needs more bigger size to adjust slow mixture range between idle to 1/16th opening.

Thankyou for quick response.

#35 and press-in thanks.

I am stuck. Pilot screw opening is 3-turn and still lean I feel around

1/16 throttle opening. Still little bit rough and slow response. much much better than before (My bike sit Torrance outside without any cover more than 3 years atleast. )but I like to re-jetting

like other motorcycle able to do Like CB750F some years model.

I am thinking , tap that slow jet and pull it out. tap carb hole same thread as CB750f-b(I belive) slow jet thread, what ever slow jet i.d I desire, ream out and install.

any body done this before?

You did it before! Thankyou for detail.

You saying, drill out slow jet , left brass remaining use as female thread,

to able to use other slow jet, Am I correct?

My english not that great like you guys sa long as second language.

Apologizing my funny english.

I have lathe and milling machine. but I don't have confidence to alighn

lathe center to slow jet center accurate enough.

Require 4-jaw independent. I may have to get it from IPS Elmonte CA.

I may just use drill press to enlarge hole, tap it like 4mmx0.8mm,

install long bolt, put washer to bolt large enough to against slow jet housing, turn nut as screw jack to pull slow jet out. just my idea.

If not strong enough, tapping again like 6mmx1mm.

I did not look real slow jet for CB750F yet. I have to get it before

start work on carb to make sure 750 slow jet thread is big enough

to tap to CBX carb body.

PS. I like your little picture. SR71?

I installed overhauled carbulator today without slow jet replacement or ream out.

De-activate Air cut off valve works good!

Made thread for Air-cut off valve path to plug vacum air to diaphragm.

Remove diaphram and spring.

After de-activate air cut off valve, idle mixture by pilot screw is good!

1/16 opening also no rough engine running.

I just wondering de-activation of air cut off valve effect to other situation.

I will report later. It`s too late to ride my loud CBX. 4 AM now.
