idle screw

Post by DevonCbx »

I noticed when I had the carbs off the bike I turned the idle speed screw to watch the throttle butterflies open and close. I noticed they open maybe about a 1/16 of an inch. Is it normal for them to open so little?

I never checked mine but that amount of movement seems about right for idle adjustment.

I agree, the movement is quite small. Don't forget, under idle conditions the engine is off load, so a small increase in air/fuel means a large increase in revs....
