CBX Repair shop near Columbus, Ohio

Post by dr.porsche »

Hey all! I am in need of a reliable repair shop near Columbus, Ohio to clean and rebuild the carbs on my '82 CBX. I have considered doing it myself, but the thought of having them all apart and then re-syncing them seems to be a bit more than I can handle. I have contacted Blacklab Performance but they are pretty far away and I can't seem to get a response from anyone at CincyCycles.

Thanks

Jeff

You have just named the 2 "local" places that I would have recommended. If you can't get in contact with the one closest to you (probably CincyCycles), I'd say that Blacklab would certainly be worth your time to make sure that the job is done correctly. I love road trips, especially those that involve CBX motorcycles. :D

You might also check with CBXman. I think that he offers mail in rebuild service, but I don't know what you would have to do about sync.

I sent mine to CBXMan some time ago. I am expecting to get them back soon, and the bike will be ready mid april...

You don't have to break the bank apart to clean the carbs. They will clean fine with all six of them together. And if you send them to have them cleaned they will not be in a more ready-to-run condition than if you do it yourself. Synchronizing is done properly with the carbs installed on the bike.
