Hi all, after 15 years of owning a really rough non running 81, I am just about to start a ground up rebuild
Looking forward to the challenges that await me and will no doubt be trawling these boards to pick up all the hints tips and experiences that you guys have had
Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter,
Welcome to the forum and you've come to the right place for all things CBX.
FYI, there's a fellow called Roland Skate in Melbourne who has probably forgotten more about CBXs than most people will ever know or learn. A nicer fellow you'd be hard-pressed to meet and he will be happy to help guide you on this interesting journey you have undertaken. The rewards will truly be well worth your effort and don't hesitate to ask away for any guidance. Keep us posted on progress.
Cheers...Tony

Welcome to the site, Peter.
Restoring to stock or some sort of custom?
Either way it is good to hear your bike is being worked on and not parted out.

I will add my voice to the chorus recommending Roly. He was my inspiration for converting an immaculate Prolink to a work-a-day race bike and has assisted all along the way.
Australia has a good few pages in the CBX history so you are fortunate to have access to local expertise. Good luck with your project.
