engine rebuild

hi ive just purchasedc a cbx 1000 1979 model american import , took engine out and started to take rocker cover off and i think the bike has been under water at some stage and i drained the oil or i should say water out , its been awhile in there ,not sure if you know a engine rebuilder , i can do engine building but i think this one will need reboring cams reprofiling etc, any thoughts pleasw ,cheers Martin

Not a pleasant find. Were you misled on the condition of the engine?

Have a wander around on https://ukcbxclub.com/ Probably find a couple "local" engine builders on their site.
Please do come back and let this site know about your results.

btw, i have friend that lived in your area[Torpoint] for 40 years before moving to Canada. She has lots of pics of great roads along the coast.

Welcome to the ICOA!

The go to guy for engine builds in the UK is Carl Woodcock - based in the North West.

He is normally booked up for a while, so would need to schedule it in with him.

I also do Engine builds, but just too many other projects getting in the way to do it for you at the moment.

thanks for your comments i think i was misled with the condition of the engine , i think i will brave it and settle down to a full strip down ,and see what i find hopefully it wont be as bad as im fearing ,will keep you posted
