It is on TDC mark, checked pistons 1 and 6 and they're in position.

it's difficult reproduce that carb angle when it's not mounted on engine.steve murdoch icoa #5322 wrote:Some pics and info on the float level check.

Measured the angle from engine to airbox and I came up with approximately 30 degrees for carb angle....when i put the clear line on carb 1 and 6 the fuel level comes to the top of that screw in your picture. I set all the floats at 15.5mm or as close I could to that, I see a need now for finding the proper float measuring toolç now.

Again, the crank has to be on the F mark, not the T mark to check static timing. However, in your pic, if you rotated the crank back to the F mark the rotor tooth would be even farther off, so any way you look at it it's wrong. If you didn't see it, I edited my post since I did indeed say the first time to use the T mark.

true enough I initially had turned to the F mark but then moved to the T mark for the photo, I dont recall why I moved it to the T but as you say it didnt make much of an improvement.daves79x wrote:Again, the crank has to be on the F mark, not the T mark to check static timing. Re: wont start ive run out of ideas.
Update, the Z lives!
Timing adjusted carbs are synced, and breathing nicely. Those Pipemasters sound sooo sweet!
a couple of electrical issues, turning off the key doesn't kill the engine, and adjustments were made for the wiring into TIMs alternator.
I should be riding the Z this week. It's been a very very long time.
Many Many Thanks to all here who helped me on my way!!!!

Way to go, wyly.
