1980 CBX

Post by CopperCollar »

Always wondering when I would have a good find.

Today I brought home two of four CBX's, two 80 models and two 79 models.

Here is the 80 model with a custom paint job and DG exhaust but otherwise complete to even the air gauge and cable lock in the tail section.

This is about half the spares I got.

Thanks Guys,

I haven't been around much but I am ready to get back onboard with fixing bikes.

You will always be welcome Steve, for that matter anyone that comes through and I won't even put you to work in the demolition factory.

I'll pick up the Japan bike next Thursday, that's the earliest I can get it because of work. I managed to get the Marysville bike today along with a 79 that is all there but pretty rough from sitting outside for heaven knows how many years.

One of the 79's has the same engine and frame numbers but I'll have to pull the air box and clean the serial number pad off to confirm this, the title reflects the same numbers but I somehow doubt this is true. More like some clerk at DMV was to lazy to get a mirror and look.

Mike

Nice find, Mike! You're right, the serial number thing is probably an error, but matching-numbers bikes do exist. If you do indeed have one, that's a really great find.
