Hey Guys,
I know this is not a CBX, but thought I would share. I aquired my first cbx back a couple months ago, which needs some carb work and brake work at the least.
But, before I started on it I wanted to finish a project that I already had on the go. It took 3 long years but it has all paid off.
Here it is - 77 cb550k before
And after the resto mod.
Now this winter I can focus my time on getting this girl runnin and cruise old school style!!!!
Not a CBX, but since this is done now...

I like it , it's understated. Something about the seat though, more padding & contouring?
Rugged motors those, best one of the Honda 'fours'.
Nice looking tail too.

Nice work, Akinz.
Your Superbike bars instead of clip-ons and the Tarrozi? rearsets should make for a good riding stance.

Yes, the seat it's a little on the uncomfortable side. Actually a LOT on the uncomfortable side. This winter I'm hoping to get a proper seat, and something with a little more height as well.bikeymikey748 wrote:I like it , it's understated. Something about the seat though, more padding & contouring?

The motor only has like 25000ish miles on it, but before I tore into it, it acted as a great mosquito repellant with the way it smoked all the time. After just putting some new rings in and lapping the valves it's way stronger than it was before. Not that there's a lot of power there, but fun enough to bang through some gears without worrying about seeing any red flashies in the mirrors!

Very cool! What type of exhaust are you using?

Normally I don't like many of the modern seat tails used on these older bikes but your's looks good.

Right now it is just an OEM honda 4 into 4 that this bike would have come with from the factory. But hopefully during the winter months, I'm going to get some stainless header pipes built for a new 4 into 4 so it sounds a little nastiergak1047 wrote:Very cool! What type of exhaust are you using?
