$1127 total - Not bad at all . . . . go for it. That's exactly half what my Pipemasters 6 into 6's cost me . . . . or 1/3rd of what Ray paid for his Schule exhaust - Not that hard a sum to swallow to get exactly what you want

You can shave some serious money off of this total by shopping around. The bikini fairing, for example, is a simple Viper or Emgo fairing that can be had for as little as $49.-. The bar end mirrors I bought for my R100S for $125.- the set. The rearsets were for sale at Mid-Ohio for $135.- and I bought a set for my CB750 SOHC cafe project.

While you should do whatever you like, my personal opinon is, that the CBX is too big of a bike to turn into a cafe racer. Making a Prolink "naked" is a nice project, but a cafe racer would be going too far.

I would love to have a set of these for the '79. The handlebar position is okay for me, but those foot controls need to ease on back. :)

Ron, I don't know what you currently have on your 79, but any non-original footpeg sets require some work to fit the CBX. Remember the original plates have holes for the swingarm axle and engine mounting bolts and hold the exhaust hangers.

If you have stock U.S. footpeg plates, the Euro- or Sport Kit-plates will move your footpegs about one inch further back and this may be what you need

Yep, that's what I need. I saw those aftermarket kits and just ASSumed that they were strictly bolt on.

I just got off the phone with Jim from FastFromThePast, who told me the kits are each designed specifically for each bike model (thus the kit number 19-0086=81-82 CBX), and indeed are no-fuss-no-muss bolt on!

I think I was given that exact set of rearsets to evaluate for the club. I tried them on an '80 (same pivot as '81-'82). Wish I could remember exactly what the problems were, but there were problems. Some of the linkage parts didn't work and the whole thing felt 'clubby' on the bike when installed. Just my opinion and observation from dim memory a couple of years ago.

IF these are the ones shown in the pictures, I will bet any money that they ARE NOT a no fuss bolt-on and you will have to manufacture stuff to take care of other things the stock footpeg plates take care of. I have a set of rearsets lying in my parts pile that look like dead ringers of these and I have not found a good looking way to put them on any CBX. But by all means...go ahead and spend the money! It is good for the economy and at least one guy will be happy:
