Not that I want to defend myself...but here was my thinking:

All the bikes that I keep sitting around in precious garage or other space, sit on the center stand (as long as they have one), because this way they occupy less of that space.
With flat tires, any bike is more difficult to move on to the center stand, requires a much harder effort.
So.....I though you ended up with a hernia, trying to do that. Glad to hear you "just" bruised your shin... :shock: ;-)

Haven't done that, one James. BUT, same church -- just different pew. (Ever put a brake pad in backwards and wonder what the screeching noise is? Just for starts)

I got here late. At first I was wondering if the side stand had failed. That is not unheard of.

I might be noted as a pussy. But, do to events 30 years ago, I never move my bikes without sitting on them. Never.

Sorry to hear of the event. When you least expect it something goofy happens.
