In Toronto, most of the drivers are used to seeing bikes - and a nontrivial portion of them also cycle. I almost never have real issues in the core.
Cycling in the 905 is a different matter altogether. Everybody's angry at everyone else all the time, and they seem to take the existence of bicycles as a personal attack.

Having 2 young kids is great and I wouldn't trade the experience of fatherhood for anything... But if I don't get this bike back on the road and go for some real rides/trips soon, my head is gonna f'n explode.
The question then is how do we define "soon"? I have this fantasy of getting started on the EFI conversion in earnest this winter. Maybe, MAYBE it can be running again next year, and sorted out well enough for a multi-day trip sometime the year after. I do consider just getting another bike to ride in the meantime, but the truth is that I already have full access to my wife's bike and with our lifestyle right now there's almost no opportunity to ride anyhow. Better to just focus on getting the CBX ready for when the other factors give me more room to enjoy it. :)

I'd venture to say that many of us have been there, Phil. Feel or felt your 'pain'. Meanwhile, have some fun with the 'project'. It's a good one. Hopefully, there's help here. Cheers. Oh, keep the posts coming. Yours are always enjoyable; and, very helpful.
