Front master cylinder bore size
What is the limit on front master cylinder bore, I had cylinder with stuck piston so I milled it out and honed cylinder, I had to open it up to .631 to remove all the corrosion, is .006 over too much?

Re: Front master cylinder bore size
According to the service manual, the limit is 15.925mm or 0.6270 inches ID. This would make 0.631 too much.mike209 wrote:What is the limit on front master cylinder bore, I had cylinder with stuck piston so I milled it out and honed cylinder, I had to open it up to .631 to remove all the corrosion, is .006 over too much?

There is a place not far from you called Apple Hydraulics that can resleeve yours. They did mine, and it was perfect and will be for eternity, but they nicked up the MC a lot in the process. Alternatively, you could prowl eBay for something like this, which is cheaper than a rebuild kit!

P.S. If you do, I'll buy your rebuild kit

Oh REALLY MIke? Super interesting.
How would you like to tool up and do a bunch at the same time?
Lemme go hunt up my thread from when I had this done, I think I have some photos and notes that you might find useful.

Here you go:
viewtopic.php?f=50&t=6393&p=47785&hilit=resleeve#p47785
What I should have said prior was "How would you like to tool up and do a bunch at the same time for fun and profit?"
I think you'd have a few takers if you did.
