Re: Swingarm Bearings
EMS,
Could you confirm that the P/N on the Nachi bearing is '188A04'?
Maybe my source can do something with it.....
Does anyone know anyone at American Honda? Maybe they can get Honda to release the 'proprietary' on the bearing so it can be obtained by
third parties?
Just dreaming?!

Re: Swingarm Bearings
Jim-Jim, the stamped number looks like 188A04 or 168A04, however, when my source confirmed the bearing with Nachi, they used 16BA04.
Your other question: As this is the last new set I have, I would like to hold on to it. Sorry.

Re: Swingarm Bearings
I just now noticed this post; sorry to be late.
This needle bearing is for the LEFT side, right?
The previous posts were for the Ball Bearing on the RIGHT side, so wanted to be clear.
You didn't post a price for those needle bearings; would you, please.
I could be interested in a few; how many buyers do you need?
Are these bearings a standard bearing available at reputable vendors?
Where did you find them?
Just looking for a little more info.

Re: Swingarm Bearings
Hi JJ,
Yes the needle bearing is for the left side. Removal of this bearing is destructive, as the inside cage is crushed when you drive it out for cleaning and greasing, so this bearing must be replaced. The (2) ball bearing array came out without damage. The needle case had the number NTN HMK2530 stamped, so I googled it and found: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NTN-HMK2530-Bea ... 0394677051 (divine intervention...). I bought the bag. I believe they are std needle bearing 25X33X30. I have a few extra, and will sell for cost ($10/pc includes S/H). Send a PM.

Re: Swingarm Bearings
Reference my post regarding the needle bearing installation viewtopic.php?f=24&t=7134&start=30 . I know that Brad is aware of this. I thought I would post it here for others who may not have seen it who might be rebuilding a swingarm. It is important which side of the needle bearing you use when driving the new one into the swingarm. The 'book' is correct. Push/hit against the numbers.

Re: Swingarm Bearings
In case there is any confusion the numbers side of the needle bearing cage side should be notably reinforced compared to the opposite side.
