Would seem to me possible, to set my user control panel to receive e-mail notifications for every new post within the forum.
I have tried to find the way, honest, but seem unable to do it. Help?
Thanks in advance
Aris

Re: Receive e-mail notifications for every post
Hmmm.
The short answer is that I don't think you can in one go. You can 'subscribe' to specific topics, and that can be set to do so if you respond to a topic, but that's it for 'automatic' I believe. If we did have a feature like that and a lot of people used it, that could create an awful lot of overhead for the web server in busy periods. Let me suggest an alternative.
Bookmark this link (right click in Windows):
search.php?search_id=unreadposts
...and use that bookmark by default when you access the site. That will take you to what's new every time, although depending on your preferences for staying logged-in, it might require you to login each time too.
Will that come close enough to what you want Aris?

Re: Receive e-mail notifications for every post
We did indeed have that notification service at one time. But let me tell you, it was a pain in the neck. You might as well join an e-mail list.
For someone who is retired, it may be O.K. (it may also remind him of the good old times) but if you are still working and use your e-mail address day in day out for business, you get ENOUGH e-mails.
I do not need an e-mail every time someone posts something in the forum. What a nightmare that would be.

Re: Receive e-mail notifications for every post
Doesn't everybody see the circle in the header line changing color to red when there is a new post in that section?
