Here's the plate on my 1980 - before I registered it in lovely Kansas. The state only allows 5 alpha/numeric characters

Will Hoctor did a series of CBX license plates on the C2C trip. I seem to remember he posted them here somewhere.........

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

OK Rick.

None of these are mine. I think they were taken on the Coast to Coast. They aren't posted here, but are easy to see at:

and there are only 7.

Oh man, time flies. I could have sworn it was 2008, when I took these pictures of the plates at the ICOA base. I had to go all the way back to the 2007 VMD report. Go to page 2 of the thread...

I used to have "vanity" plates on almost all of my bikes and the cars too. That was until I finally got fed up writing that outrageous check to the BMV every year at renewal time.
Ohio allows a 25 year old vehicle to carry a historic plate that does not need to be renewed and I started converting everything that qualifies over. I have a few of the vanity plates left and everything I am getting new gets a regular plate. The CBXes both have historic plates now. They used to be CE BE X and CEE B X.

The Brits over here have some nice plates but for security reasons they wouldn't want to post. My favorite ( owned by a Scottish gentleman ) is JOC 1. A "jock" being a loose term of endearment for s Scotsman..

However, they are very expensive as you have to buy the vehicle with the tag on. There are plates available for the well heeled. Punch your favorite number in & see what it will cost if you lived over here.

Remember £1.00 = $1.65

With my new-to-me CBX starting its cross country journey to me soon, I'm in a waiting mode. Your cool plates got me churning on vanity or personalized plates.

Here in California, we get 7 alphanumeric characters, so it makes one think. What inspires me about the CBX is the sheer audacity of the young engineers to build a production superbike with a six cylinder aircooled engine, six all in a row, no less. That and the sound and the smoothness are what inspire me so my plate ideas hit on those characteristics.

Hope you haven't seen 'em all before, and that you find a few that make you smile.

I have CBX200V and sold A15CBX to an 81 owner. You do not have to renew the plates over here and you can sell then at auction or privately provided the plate does not make the bike appear to be younger than it is. Some plates such as R1 fetch mega money over here. Least number of letters and numbers the more expensive the plate. Pages of adverts every weekend in the newspapers. Here is one of the sites over here so you can see prices. www.eliteregistrations.co.uk
