I was very fortunate and was offered the opportunity to acquire the “Bitsa bike.” It is a 1980 CBX with parts sourced from other Honda bikes as well. The builder is a very well known and admired restoration expert in many vintage Japanese restoration circles. At one time his shop did very high end CBX builds. Quite a few of you know him and have followed the vlog of this very build. The idea was to build a CBX but improve on what Honda could not foresee as “needing improvement.”
It has the following mods:
-The Ikon/Racetech suspension
-Prolink forks and 1100F swingarm
-twin-pot brakes

- mold injected headlight shell, (Rare)
-17” & 18” CB 1100 F wheels
-CB 1100F front brakes & rotors
-39 mm front Prolink forks (*With the reflector bushings machined smooth) & powder coated
-39 mm euro spec handlebars slightly shorter Prolink bars
-Prolink 5 row oil cooler
-New Sankai replica exhaust * Closet version to the original exhaust
-LED headlight & LED turn signals
-Carbs complete rebuilt sans the “Autovalve for kinder starting.
-CB 1100F square swing-arm machined to original wheelbase *has better chain adjusters
-CB 1100F chain guard
- IKON 7610 rear shocks
-Front forks - Racetec springs , gold valve cartridge emulators
-Prolink gauges mixed and matched with tubs, (Nearly NOS gauges.)
-Preload adjustable fork caps
-Rebuilt alternator
-Technofit braided steel brake lines rear
-*Includes the original Comstar wheels.
All the rest of the entire bike has been meticulously gone over, engine, wiring, you name it.
I had a 79 black Supersport as some of you may remember. I installed a Tims, (Kawasaki) alternator, electronic ignition and few other bits. I never could get past the fact that most all of the rest off the CBX was just palin “tired.” I restore mostly vintage Japanese 2 stroke street bikes, *think H2, H1 GT750, RD350, etc. But this CBX is a truly “Unique” build and I can see it has the safety and other features that make this “resto-mod” a highly desirable bike in my opinion. It will be a rider for sure and shared within the Vintage motorcycle enthusiast here in the Las Vegas Area for years to come.
